How to get to Oscarsborg
Where
Oscarsborg Fortress is located in the Oslo Fjord, only a few minutes with ferry from Drøbak, about an hour south of Oslo, Norway.
You can travel to the island from everywhere in the world, but we highly recommend driving by car or taking public transport to Drøbak, and then take the ferry over to the island from the harbour Sundbrygga.
Suggested public transport to Drøbak:
Bus #500 from Oslo (Oslo Bussterminal) to Grande bus station (approx. 50 min.). There is a 5 min. walk (326 meter / 1 070 feet) from Grande bus station to Sundbrygga.
Parking
Husvik: This is Forsvarsbygg's (Norwegian Defence Estate Agency) parking lot for visitors to Oscarsborg approx. 350 meters north of Sundbrygga. If you have a GPS, you can set it to Husvikveien 37.
If you come from Drøbak on Niels
Carlsens vei, you should drive about 350 meters past Sundbrygga. There
is a sign pointing up to the right, just before a black house. The parking fee for Husvik
is NOK 26 per hour and NOK 125 per day (incl. VAT).
There are no chargring options for electical vehichles on this parking.
Bankløkka parking is located approx. 900 meters south of Sundbrygga in the center of Drøbak. Her you pay in advance for the number of hours you want to park. You can set your GPS to Niels Carlsens gate 7.
Ferry
The ferry to Oscarsborg fortress runs from Sundbrygga, approx. 900 meters north of downtown Drøbak. The trip takes about five minutes.
You buy tickets at the vending machine at the ferry dock. The ticket is valid for a return trip.
Important: It is not possible to buy tickets on board the boat. All travelers must have a valid ticket. There is no transfer / additional ticket between Ruter or Vy tickets and the Oscarsborg ferries.
